Newt Gingrich Wipes Arrogant Smirk Right Off Mitt Romney’s Face In Embarrassing Video

0

Newt Gingrich just wiped the arrogant smirk right off Mitt Romney’s face and Mitt deserved it.

Newt wrote a blistering op-ed that denounced the hapless, jealous and bitter former presidential candidate and doubled down in an appearance on Fox and Friends.

Newt said, “Well, first of all, Mitt Romney is a freshman senator. So he’s only a top Republican because he was once the nominee and lost.

Loading...

“I think 80-85% of the party supports Trump. I’m not sure what Mitt Romney is trying to accomplish.

It is kind of sad. As a freshman, he could have come in, he could have written as the former governor of Massachusetts, his views on Elizabeth Warren running for office.

He could have written about the shutdown and offered an idea, such as combining help for the DREAMers with building the wall and securing the border. He could have written about things he knows a great deal about.

Why he would pick his very first venture to be an attack on the Republican president, you’d have to ask Romney. I can’t figure out why he thought that was helpful to him…

I think Romney has always wanted to be president, I think he’d like to be president now…

From Romney’s own standpoint, I don’t understand strategically, why you would try to carve out being the anti-Trump before you’re even sworn in as a freshman.

I think it is important for Romney — and he’ll learn this in the Senate. The Senate doesn’t care who you used to be.

The Senators aren’t going to say they owe him a lot of extra room because he was once the Republican nominee. He’s a freshman senator.

He needs to learn how the Senate works, and ideally, because he’s a very smart guy, he’s going to focus on actually solving problems, not just getting involved in a game with Trump.

Because he’ll just plain lose. You can’t take Trump on inside his own party.”

Nancy Pelosi Busted Sneaking In Abortion Expansion Into Shutdown Bill

0

Nancy Pelosi just can’t help herself. She just returned to power in Washington after years in the wilderness and the first thing she tries to do is sneak in abortion expansion into a compromise bill?

Not a smart opening move, nor is drawing a line in the sand over border wall funding. She will try again and again to undo all that Trump has done, thankfully it will be an uphill battle.

From Breitbart: House Democrats made the expansion of abortion one of their first orders of business in a bill that seeks to end the partial government shutdown.

Loading...

The spending bill – to be voted on Thursday – would repeal a provision that bans non-governmental organizations – such as International Planned Parenthood – from providing or promoting abortions as a method of family planning overseas.

Known in the past as the Mexico City Policy, the provision is now known as the Protecting Life in Global Health Assistance Policy, and was instituted by President Donald Trump shortly after his inauguration in January 2017. Abortion rights advocates simply refer to the provision as the “global gag rule.”

As the Washington Examiner reports, the bill would also raise funding for the United Nations Population Fund (UNPF) by $5 million to $37.5 million. Human rights activists have long been critical of UNPF – an agency they have linked to the support of population control programs such as China’s coercive abortion “one-child policy.”

The pro-life Students for Life of America (SFLA) is calling on all lawmakers of both parties to reject any new funding for abortion in the budget “that would pay for abortions worldwide and to reject any new funding for abortion here at home.”

“News that abortion is the leading cause of death worldwide is a tragedy of international proportions, but asking U.S. taxpayers to pay for it is an offensive misuse of scarce resources,” said SFLA president Kristan Hawkins. “Taxpayers have had enough of the abortion industry’s vision of abortion as the United States’ number one export.”

Marjorie Dannenfelser, president of the Susan B. Anthony List, said Democrats were “already trying to foist a radical pro-abortion agenda on the nation.”

Chuck Schumer Caves As Huge Group of Stalled Trump Nominees Finally Approved

0

The Democrats and their friends in the media should get used to this image – Chuck Schumer folding like a cheap suit.

Pelosi will fold too – Trump will not cave on the wall and he simply doesn’t care about opinion polls so even if he gets blamed for a prolonged shutdown, it won’t sway him.

A normal politician could be swayed but Trump is not normal. Chuck Schumer, in typical obstructionist fashion, had been holding up some of Trump nominees.

Loading...

The real scandal is that Chuck was still obstructing these nominees this late into Trump’s term, but he finally came to his senses.

From The Washington Examiner:The Senate confirmed dozens of stalled Trump administration nominees Wednesday night, just hours before the close of the 115th Congress.

The list excluded federal judges despite an effort by Majority Leader Mitch McConnell, R-Ky., to secure a deal for those nominees with Minority Leader Chuck Schumer, D-N.Y.

In total, the Senate cleared 77 nominees by voice vote, among them 23 ambassadors to countries including Australia, Armenia, Yemen, Guyana, Kenya, and Bosnia and Herzegovina.

The Senate confirmed eight U.S. attorneys and eight U.S. marshals, a member of the Federal Maritime Commission, and two members of the Federal Communications Commission.

The Senate confirmed James Carroll Jr. to be director of National Drug Control Policy. It also confirmed Ellen McCarthy to serve as assistant secretary of state.

And it confirmed Kelvin Droegemeier to serve as the director of the White House Office of Science and Technology Policy.

“The Senate has confirmed a highly respected scientist and academic to help further our nation’s economic competitiveness and national security,” said incoming Senate Majority Whip John Thune, R-S.D.

Kathy Griffin And Stormy Daniels Humiliated In Hollywood

0

Fame is fleeting, but infamy lasts forever, as Stormy Daniels and Kathy Griffin are finding out the hard way.

They have been vicious antagonists of all things decent and holy in this great nation to say nothing of the hatchet jobs they have done on Trump to foster their own careers.

Rank opportunists they are and they tried to parlay their notoriety into a massive payday over the holidays by pitching the dynamic duo as hosts of a new show.

Loading...

They got soundly rejected by every network in Hollywood. From The Daily Mail:

Kathy Griffin revealed on Monday that she attempted to get herself back on the airwaves this New Year’s Eve with a new co-host.

The comedian said on Twitter that she had pitched ‘New Year’s Eve live with Kathy Griffin and Stormy Daniels’ but ‘all of the Hollywood check signers were too scared’ to greenlight the telecast.

Griffin, 58, and Daniels, 39, became friends after meeting for the first time earlier this year.

The porn star attended Griffin’s show in Boston this past June, and the two women later posed for a photo that was posted on Twitter.

‘@StormyDaniels it was an honor to have you at my Boston show tonight. I support you 100%! #F***Trump,’ wrote Griffin.

Griffin also went after Jefd Zucker on Monday for cutting her pay when she asked the CNN boss for a raise.

‘I worked my way up by the 10th year at CNN to get a fee of $150,000. By the way, just as a point of reference, Anderson Cooper regularly bragged for years that his annual CNN contract was $10 million a year,’ wrote Griffin on Twitter.

‘The first two years I appeared on CNN, it didn’t even occur to me to ask for a salary. The 8th year when I asked Jeff Zucker for a raise, he was so angry he docked me 30%. I’m sorry to say I took the pay cut because I truly enjoyed making you all laugh.’

Dem Rep. Hank Johnson Makes Horrific Speech About President Trump And GOP (Video)

0

If it seems like the Democrats hit a new low every day you haven’t seen anything yet. Today the Democrats take over the House and finally have some power to fight back at Trump’s agenda.

They only have the house so they will most probably overplay their hand and early comments from Nancy Pelosi point to that already happening – she is already talking impeach and indict.

But the real low point came down in Georgia when Rep. Hank Johnson stunned even the hardened cynics with a cheap and horrific political speech.

Loading...

“Americans elected an authoritarian, an anti-immigrant, racist strongman to the nation’s highest office,” Johnson said.

“Donald Trump and his ‘Make America Great Again’ followers who want to return American back to a time where white men and white privilege were unchallenged, and where minorities and women were in their place.”

“Donald Trump supporters are older, less educated, less prosperous, and they are dying early,” Johnson continued.

“Their lifespans are decreasing, and many are dying from alcoholism, drug overdoses, liver disease, or simply a broken heart caused by economic despair.”

“Charismatic and a good public speaker, deceptive, and cunning, Adolf Hitler rose to power to lead Germany in 1932 after Democratic elections,” Johnson said.

“He rode a wave of nationalism and anti-Semitism to power. Replace anti-Semitism with ‘all Latinos crossing our borders are rapists, drug dealers, and murderers,’ does that sound familiar?”

“Much like how Hitler took over the Nazi party, Trump has taken over the Republican party,” Johnson added.

“Hitler was accepting of violence toward the achievement of political objectives. Trump encouraged violence against protesters at his rallies, and his messaging about Charlottesville, that there were bad people on both sides, sent a powerful message of approval to the far right racists in America.”

“Americans, particularly black Americans, can’t afford to make that same mistake about the harm that could be done by a man named Hitler or a man named Trump.”

Lindsey Graham Drops Hammer On Mitt Romney, Ends His Reign Of Terror With Blistering Rebuke

0

Lindsey Graham is breaking his silence on another Mitt Romney betrayal and Mitt better listen to what he has to say because it just may save the Utah Senator’s political career.

“Well, how does it work to the advantage of the people of Utah?” Lindsey told Brian Kilmeade when Mitt came up.

“He decided to go back into public service; I’m glad he did,” Graham said, “Now, what drove him back into public service? Was it to be a foe of President Trump? I hope not because I don’t think the people of Utah voted for him to do that.”

Loading...

Lindsey continued explaining Trump’s style: “He really cares about what you think and what more can you ask if you’re a member of the United States Senate than have a chance to talk with the president and share your views.

That will not happen if he believes you are out to get him. So I’m hoping that Mitt will sit down with the president privately, share his concerns with the president about whatever drives his thinking but also commit to the president that I want you to be successful and I’m here to help you.

If he will do that he can be a very effective senator. If he’s going to be the critic from Utah, it’s going to hurt him and Utah.”

“Trump is not short of critics,” Graham went on to say. “What he’s short of is people who will sit down with him and tell him the truth as they see it and help him make good decisions. He is our president. I will support him in 2020.”

“The people who are applauding Romney today for standing up to Trump and going after Trump will turn on Romney the moment he votes for something that they don’t like,” Lindsey reminded Mitt.

“He’s got to learn from Kavanaugh. It’s really not about Trump, it’s about us. It’s about conservatism. They want to destroy the conservative movement, not just Trump.

Kavanaugh was the Bush guy, Brian, he wasn’t the Trump guy. Trump picked somebody from the Bush world who was highly qualified, that brought the party together. Instead of smooth sailing, rewarding the president to pick somebody highly qualified, the Democrats chose to try to destroy Kavanaugh.”

“What I want Sen. Romney to know, it’s not just about Trump — it’s about us,” Graham berated,

“And remember what they tried to do to you, Mitt, when they got through with you? You were a bad guy. The truth is, you’re a good guy, but in their world you will always be a bad guy if you try to cross them on policy,” he added.

Chuck And Nancy Throw Temper Tantrum At Border Security Briefing

0

The hapless Democrats think they have Trump on the ropes and they think they can squeeze him on the border wall. They are wrong and in fact, it is Trump who holds the cards.

He knows he won’t get much done, save infrastructure, on the legislative front with Pelosi in charge of the Democrats so he can afford to stare her down on the wall.

It is now or never and he knows it. Pelosi, a true bureaucrat at heart, will despair the shutdown more than most and will find a way to save face and end it.

Loading...

But it may take a while after Chuck and Nancy’s disgraceful performance today at the White House.

From The Daily Caller: House Majority Leader Kevin McCarthy echoed this version of events to reporters outside the White House immediately after the briefing, saying “once the secretary started, Schumer interrupted her and didn’t want to hear it.”

The White House official told TheDC that both Pelosi and Schumer refused to hear out Nielsen’s briefing and instead advocated for two solutions to end the government shutdown. Neither of the Democratic options would provide the additional funding for border security requested by The White House.

Representatives for Pelosi and Schumer did not respond to requests for comment.

Pelosi gave away her hand in an interview to be aired tomorrow when she admitted it was a waste of Trump’s time to even meet with her. From The Hill:

Likely next House Speaker Nancy Pelosi (D-Calif.) reaffirmed that Democrats will not give in to President Trump’s demand for $5 billion for a border wall as part of any legislation to end a partial government shutdown.

“Nothing for the wall,” she said in an interview for NBC’s “Today” show set to air Thursday morning.

Democrats, who will officially take the House majority on Thursday, have repeatedly said they will not include any funding for a border wall as part of a spending bill to end the shutdown, which entered its 12th day Wednesday.

Pelosi and other congressional leaders huddled with the president at the White House Wednesday for an ultimately fruitless negotiation to try to bridge the differences between the two ends of Pennsylvania Avenue.

However, Trump has shown no signs of letting up on his desire to attain funding for his signature campaign promise, saying at a Cabinet meeting Wednesday, “The United States needs a physical barrier. It needs a wall,” adding that parts of the government will remain closed for “as long as it takes.”

Democrats plan to vote on legislation Thursday that would end the shutdown, but without border wall money.

“We are asking the president to open up the government,” Pelosi said outside the White House following Wednesday’s meeting. “We are giving him a Republican path to do that. Why would he not do it?”

Federal Court Hands Trump Huge Win In Landmark Global Warming Case

0

President Trump and the DOJ just got a huge win in a landmark global warming lawsuit. The lawsuit was a joke and most observers were stunned when it did not get tossed out of court when it was filed.

21 young environmentalists convinced a judge in Oregon to somehow grant them standing to sue Trump and his administration over climate policy.

Enter the Ninth Circuit Court of Appeals who do not normally side with Trump or his administration on anything,

From The Daily Caller: The Trump administration’s battle against a global warming lawsuit brought by 21 youths will continue into 2019 after a federal court handed the government a big win over the holiday season.

The Ninth Circuit Court of Appeals sided with the Department of Justice (DOJ) in a Dec. 26 ruling largely missed by major media outlets. The court granted DOJ’s petition for interlocutory appeal that decreases the chances of the climate lawsuit going to trial anytime soon.

The three-judge Ninth Circuit panel is the very same one that in March 2018 ruled against Trump administration petitions for a writ of mandamus, which allows a higher court to overrule a lower court before a case is decided.

Our Children’s Trust filed suit against the federal government in 2015 on behalf of 21 youths, aged 11 to 22, arguing their right to a “stable climate system” was being violated. The suit asks the court to order the government to issue laws and regulations to fight global warming.

The government should move “to ensure that atmospheric CO2 is no more concentrated than 350 [parts per million] by 2100 … to stabilize the climate system,” reads the group’s legal complaint.

The youth lawsuit is just one of a handful of global warming lawsuits being brought before state and federal courts in recent years as environmentalists, Democratic politicians and trial lawyers turn to the courts to advance the climate agenda.

Youth activists, however, base their legal reasoning on the idea that the “public trust doctrine” also requires the government to ensure a “stable climate system.” Many legal experts are doubtful activists will succeed in getting the courts to force other branches of government to push climate policies.

The U.S. District Court in Oregon ruled in 2016 the youth plaintiffs had standing to sue, which was reaffirmed by the Ninth Circuit in March.

Acting Defense Secretary Shanahan Breaks Silence, Terrifies China And CNN

0

President Trump, alone among candidates and even presidents, had the stones to take on China. For too long our greed won out over common sense and it took Trump to restore balance to the important relationship between the two world leaders.

Trump is not done and negotiations are ongoing but for the first time in forever, the Chinese know Trump is serious and not just talking tough.

This terrifies them as should the words of Trump’s new Defense Secretary Patrick Shanahan.

Loading...

Shanahan also terrified the pundits at CNN when he said he would advance Trump’s agenda, as according to the media there is nothing as scary as Trump delivering on campaign promises.

“I now look forward to working with President Trump to carry out his vision alongside strong leaders including the service secretaries, the Joint Chiefs of Staff, the combatant commanders, and senior personnel in the Office of the Secretary of Defense,” Shanahan said.

“It is an honor to work with such a dedicated team committed to the greatness of our nation,” he added.

Shanahan also had reminded everyone what is at stake. From Reuters:

Acting U.S. Defense Secretary Patrick Shanahan told civilian leaders of the U.S. military on Wednesday to focus on “China, China, China,” even as America fights militants in Syria and Afghanistan, a U.S. defense official said.

The comments came during Shanahan’s first meeting with secretaries of the U.S. military branches since taking over for Jim Mattis, who left office on Monday after resigning as defense secretary over policy differences with President Donald Trump.

The U.S. official, who spoke on condition of anonymity, did not elaborate on Shanahan’s views on China or what other guidance he gave during the meeting.

Other officials have described Shanahan as an advocate of the Pentagon’s toughening stance toward Beijing. The 2018 National Defense Strategy here. branded China as a strategic competitor.

The Pentagon has said he played a critical role in developing the strategy, which singled out China and Russia as top threats, saying they wanted to “shape a world consistent with their authoritarian model.”

The document said: “Long-term strategic competitions with China and Russia are the principal priorities for the Department, and require both increased and sustained investment.”

The defense official said Shanahan told Pentagon leadership to follow the document’s guidance, particularly regarding China.

“While we’re focused on ongoing operations, acting Secretary Shanahan told the team to remember China, China, China,” the official said.

Relations between the world’s two largest economies have plumbed new depths under Trump, with a trade war and disagreements over Taiwan and the South China Sea.

Rand Paul Knocks Mitt Romney Off High Horse With Brutal History Lesson

0

Rand Paul just torched the hapless Mitt Romney and basically called Mitt a Vichy Republican and he deserves it.

Romney has zero credibility and it is clear he wants to run again so he will build his defunct brand by bashing Trump. How original. But as Rand reminds us – this isn’t the firt time Mitt has turned tail and ran away from a GOP president when the chips were down. He did the same to Ronald Reagan.

Expect more to come. From The Daily Caller: Republican Sen. Rand Paul attacked Republican Sen.-elect Mitt Romney on Wednesday for virtue signaling. Paul was responding to the 2012 GOP presidential candidate’s Washington Post op-ed, in which Romney attacked President Donald Trump just days before being sworn in as Utah’s junior senator.

Loading...

“To a great degree, a presidency shapes the public character of the nation. A president should unite us and inspire us to follow ‘our better angels,’” Romney wrote in the piece published Tuesday, adding, “And it is in this province where the incumbent’s shortfall has been most glaring.”

In response to the criticism, Paul came out swinging against Romney, comparing him to Republicans who attacked Reagan when it was popular. “Like other Big Government Republicans who never liked Reagan, Mitt Romney wants to signal how virtuous he is in comparison to the President,” Paul tweeted, “Well, I’m most concerned and pleased with the actual conservative reform agenda @realDonaldTrump has achieved.”

The flashback article Paul tweeted out slams Romney for running from Ronald Reagan when the chops were down on Reagan.

“In 1986, nearly 1 in 3 Americans thought Reagan should consider resigning before his term was finished, and even politicians — including Mitt Romney — who would later play up their love for the movie-star-turned-politician distanced themselves back when it seemed that his presidency might be a failure in the history books. “

Mitt wrote. “It is well known that Donald Trump was not my choice for the Republican presidential nomination. After he became the nominee, I hoped his campaign would refrain from resentment and name-calling.”

“It did not. When he won the election, I hoped he would rise to the occasion. His early appointments of Rex Tillerson, Jeff Sessions, Nikki Haley, Gary Cohn, H.R. McMaster, Kelly and Mattis were encouraging. But, on balance, his conduct over the past two years, particularly his actions last month, is evidence that the president has not risen to the mantle of the office.”

“To a great degree, a presidency shapes the public character of the nation. A president should unite us and inspire us to follow “our better angels.”

“A president should demonstrate the essential qualities of honesty and integrity, and elevate the national discourse with comity and mutual respect.”

“As a nation, we have been blessed with presidents who have called on the greatness of the American spirit.”

“With the nation so divided, resentful and angry, presidential leadership in qualities of character is indispensable. And it is in this province where the incumbent’s shortfall has been most glaring.”

“On balance, his conduct over the past two years, particularly his actions this month, is evidence that the president has not risen to the mantle of the office.”

“I do not intend to comment on every tweet or fault. But I will speak out against significant statements or actions that are divisive, racist, sexist, anti-immigrant, dishonest or destructive to democratic institutions,” he wrote. “To reassume our leadership in world politics, we must repair failings in our politics at home. That project begins, of course, with the highest office once again acting to inspire and unite us.”
